Cotterill warns no quick fix for Portsmouth problems

Portsmouth boss Steve Cotterill believes it will take time before Pompey are the finished article. The Championship outfit looked to have turned a corner having claimed 19 points from a possible 21 but since then have failed to win in four games, and Cotterill has challenged his players to turn their season around, starting with Swansea on Friday.

"It's not an easy job here. People think things have been straightened out because we got six wins out of seven but we can't straighten it out in one go," he told the Portsmouth News.

"It would be really nice if we could but we can't and it's terribly frustrating. We have to stick at it, though.

"We've got a good dressing room and a really good set of lads. I love them all and have time for them.

"We have a fantastic fan base and it's a proper, proud football club. It's going to take a bit of time to get it on the front foot again but that is what is going to happen, believe me."
