Carlo Costly has confirmed that he will return to Mexican club Atlas following his loan with Houston Dynamo.

The Honduras international has spent the last four or so months in the USA which culminated in the Dynamo losing the MLS Cup to LA Galaxy on Sunday, in which Costly played 25 minutes.

He has thanked the Dynamo for the chance to be a part of a great club but insists he is on his way back to Atlas for Clausura pre-season training.

“I am grateful for the opportunity they gave me,” he told FutbolMLS.com.

“I have a one-year contract still with Atlas and for next month I’m in the pre-season with Atlas.”

However, there is a slight chance Costly could be back at Robertson Stadium during 2012 but he says the decision lies with Atlas.

“There are options that are managed by my agent. We are handling this with Atlas to see if there is that opportunity to stay here and see where we go.

“I like the league (MLS), I like the atmosphere here, but it is not mine but Atlas’ issue.”
