Costa Rica coach Oscar Ramirez has defended Real Madrid No1 Keylor Navas.
On Friday night, the list of Costa Rican squads, headed by Navas, for the matches against Panama and Trinidad and Tobago, on June 8 and 13, respectively, were released.
"Keylor is not a machine, he has had his tough times, he had an injury and he needed recovery time to get back to his level that he is now demonstrating," Ramirez said to gathered media at his news conference.
Navas' mental strength was also lauded.
"It's great to see him as a league champion and in a second Champions League final," he continued.
"I have seen his great mentality and we are proud because many of us feel reflected in what he does.
"As footballers, many do not have the opportunity to reach his level."
