Serse Cosmi has been named new coach of Livorno.
The Amaranto announced their decision last night after sacking Gennaro Ruotolo and Cosmi won the race to replace him. Livorno are propping up the table with three points and are the only team in Serie A yet to register a win this season.
“I thank President Aldo Spinelli for the faith he put in me,” said the former Perugia and Brescia boss.
“I am happy to be back, but also aware of the difficulties that face me. I know that this is an excellent club with splendid fans, so we have everything we need to do well.”
Curiously Cosmi's debut will be against Roma, the club he has supported for his whole life.
“I have already faced them many times, but Livorno need points and I won't give discounts to anyone.”
