Hart has returned to his best in recent weeks.
Corrigan told the Manchester Evening News: “Goalkeepers don’t tend to reach maturity until they 26 and that’s when they really come of age.
“The best is yet to come from Joe, but I wonder – and it’s a personal feeling – if when the summer comes the manager will look at the goalkeeper situation and try to get someone with more stature to really push Joe to what he could be capable of doing.
“The manager makes these decisions, but you need someone behind you who pushes you and pushes you.
“If you lose or drop your standards you know you’re not getting back in again.”
