Corluka set for key role in Spurs clash with Twente

Vedran Corluka will have a key role in Tottenham's clash at Champions League opponents FC Twente tonight.

Corluka is ready to take his place alongside Sebastien Bassong at the heart of Tottenham's defence for Wednesday's match against FC Twente.

Spurs manager Harry Redknapp is expected to have five senior centre-backs ruled out for the club's first ever Champions League game at White Hart Lane.

Redknapp confirmed on Saturday that William Gallas would be sidelined for three weeks after damaging a thigh muscle in training last Friday, while Ledley King is also a doubt with a groin injury.

Gallas and King join Michael Dawson (knee and ankle) and Younes Kaboul (calf) on the sidelines, while Jonathan Woodgate has been out for nearly a year with a groin problem.
