Corini confident of big Torino season

New signing Eugenio Corini is confident Torino can make a big impact on Serie A next season.

"I am certain that Torino can trouble the major clubs this season," said the veteran midfielder who turns 37 at the end of this month.

"It will be important to face every game with humility and determination. Considering the history and prestige of Toro, we players have to give our best, so I hope we can end our campaign in the top half of the table."

Corini certainly has experience of taking unfancied sides to incredible heights, as he took both Chievo and Palermo from Serie B to the UEFA Cup.

"I chose Toro because I saw a great united vision between President Urbano Cairo and Coach Novellino. They believed in me from the start and made me feel like an important part of this project.

"I am very grateful to them for that and will do everything I can to repay that faith on the field."
