Coppinger slams Doncaster transfer policy experiment

James Coppinger blames Doncaster's big name transfer policy for their relegation from the Championship.

Manager Dean Saunders has brought in a host of big-name players this season - including Habib Beye, El-Hadji Diouf and Pascal Chimbonda - on cut-price loan deals and free transfers.

However, the policy has not worked out and Coppinger said: "I think it's disrespectful to the league if you think you can just bring in big names and that will win you games.

"You need passion, commitment and togetherness. And it just shows sometimes if you haven't got that, you don't do anything in football. I've been here eight years and this is the hardest and most frustrating it has been."
