Coppell tells Reading to "snap out of it"

Reading boss Steve Coppell admits his side need to "snap out of it" and beat Wigan on Saturday if they are to stay clear of a relegation scrap.

Victory at the Madejski Stadium would lift the Royals up the table following three successive Premier League defeats, but another loss would indicate a long fight against relegation is on the cards.

Coppell, whose side currently sits third from bottom, said: "I would like to say we have had a wake-up call and now we are going to snap out of it but we have got to prove that.

"We have put in far longer training sessions than we normally do and analysed everything, but now is the time to put it into action.

"We are in an unfamiliar place at the moment so this next performance, more than the result, will be significant."
