Steve Coppell is ready to commit to Reading.

The Daily Mail says Coppell is on a week's holiday and has yet to inform chairman John Madejski of his decision, but it's understood he will stay for one more season.

Coppell is determined to lead Reading back into the Barclays Premier League at the first attempt and believes the current squad are good enough to do it.

Coppell's £1.5million salary will be cut in half next season, but it is understood he will still quit at the end of the next campaign even if he manages to mastermind a Premier League return.
