Reading boss Steve Coppell admits they're not in the same spending league as tomorrow's opponents Portsmouth.

He told the Royals website: "Realistically we cannot afford them, there is no point in beating around the bush. We couldn't service the squad of players that he has acquired.

"Each club has its own resources and you stretch them as far as possible, use them as best you can. He (Harry Redknapp) has players that may not of cost a lot of money on the open market, but to be fair will cost a lot of money to service on a week-by-week basis.

"Our budget is totally different, but we have to compete and we will compete and we will have a go at them."
