Copenhagen desperate to retain Arsenal, Tottenham target Cornelius

FC Copenhagen are determined to keep promising striker Andreas Cornelius at the club.

The 20-year old has been linked with both Arsenal and Tottenham, as well as Stoke City, but sports director Carsten V. Jensen is adamant that Copenhagen do not want him going anywhere.

"First of all, we are happy on Cornelius' behalf," he told Sporten.dk after Gunners, Spurs and Potter scouts watched Cornelius score the opening goal in Denmark's 3-0 win over Czech Republic on Friday.

"I am particularly happy how he handles the situation around him. It's not easy to keep your focus on your displays when you get a lot of attention.

"Selling players is not in our plans." he added.

"We are in a phase where both the side and individual players are making progress and the most important thing for us is to prepare the club for the challenges which hopefully will come."
