Swedish defender Ludwig Augustinsson is set to complete a memorable week this week by signing for Liverpool, days after winning the European Under-21 Championships.

Liverpool have been in talks with Augustinsson's club FC Copenhagen over the proposed move and are reported to have agreed on a £2million fee.

With the speedy transfer expected to be complete over the next few days, Augustinsson will go straight into the Liverpool first team and compete with Spaniard Albert Moreno for the left-back position.

The 21-year old was a key contributor as Sweden clinched the UEFA U21 Euros on Tuesday when beating Portugal 4-3 on penalties after a 0-0 draw. Augustinsson scored his side's third penalty at Eden Arena in Prague.
