FC Copenhagen coach Stale Solbakken admits he tried to sign VfL Wolfsburg striker Nicklas Bendtner in January.
The former Arsenal and Birmingham City forward has struggled for form since his move to Wolfsburg last year.
"I told Bendtner in the summer and early in the winter transfer window that we were here, if he was interested in playing for FC Copenhagen and could stay here in the city.
"From there it was about economics, and as you know we could not do it," Solbakken told BT.
A move to FCK in the summer cannot, however, be ruled out for Bendtner.
