COPENHAGEN: FC Copenhagen have produced the goods on the final day of the Champions League group stage to move through to the next phase.
The Danes defeated Greek outfit Panathinaikos 3-1 to move through to the Round of 16 with Barcelona.
Martin Vingaard got things rolling in the 26th minute with a speculative volley which somehow evaded Pana' keeper Alexandros Tsorvas before Jesper Gronkjaer made no mistake from the penalty spot five minutes after the break.
A third goal for the home side came in the 73rd minute when French striker Djibril Cisse headed Vingaard's corner into his own net before Panathinaikos grabbed a late consolation goal through Cedric Kante.
