Just one Cope America fixture on Thursday saw Costa Rica record a comfortable over a Bolivian side who ended up with nine men.
It took the Ticos almost an hour to break down La Verde but once the first goal came, it seemed as though they would cruise to victory.
Josue Martinez opened the scoring in the 58th minute when he knocked the ball home under extreme duress after Allen Zuniga's initial shot was blocked by Bolivia keeper Carlos Arias.
It should have been 2-0 when Zuniga stepped up to the penalty spot following Ronald Rivero's handball in front of the goal-line but Arias made a great save diving to his right before keeping out the follow-up.
With Bolivia reduced to ten men, Costa Rica went further on the attack and things got even easier when Walter Flores was given his marching orders for a challenge on Joel Campbell.
The Ticos managed to grab a second when the impressive Campbell received a neat through-ball to the left, took a touch which allowed him to advance into the area and prodded home to give his side all three points.
The win enabled Costa Rica to move above hosts Argentina into second on the Group A table behind Colombia as Bolivia remained at the bottom with just one point.
The next lot of Copa America is scheduled for tonight with a Group C double-header from Mendoza involving Uruguay versus Chile and Peru versus Mexico.
