West Bromwich Albion midfielder Paul Scharner says his t-shirt stunt against Wolves was all in the name of charity.

Scharner's behaviour produced a furious response from Wolves manager Mick McCarthy.

But he revealed how he hopes to raise money for a children's charity close to his heart with the unique T-shirt he unveiled in celebration of Albion's 2-0 derby win over Wolves.

The 31-year-old midfielder wore the home-made T-Shirt, which sports the Baggies' club crest and was designed by his children, under his Baggies jersey.

"My kids made a big West Bromwich logo for this special game and at the end of the game I showed it to the supporters, and they responded to it well," Scharner told the WBA website.

"I may donate the shirt and put it on Facebook and get some money for charity. I'm not sure what they are called in England, but in Austria we call it Butterfly Kids.

"The charity supports children with a bad skin disease where they cannot be touched.

"They can't get any physical love from their parents.

"That's what I'm looking to do with the shirt."
