Rob Edwards was among those Blackpool players reporting back for preseason yesterday, despite being out of contract.
The option on his old contract wasn't taken up.
But manager Ian Holloway wants Edwards to stay at the club, says the Blackpool Gazette, and the centre half, who has Premier League experience from his Aston Villa days, has been offered a new deal.
Edwards remains in discussion with the club and will train with the Seasiders while making his decision.
