Wigan boss Steve Bruce admits he's reluctant to allow his fringe players to leave on-loan.

Bruce said: "We all know if it wasn't for the transfer window, we wouldn't have to have these big squads.

"That is the way it is in the Premier League. You need a strength in depth as the transfer window has passed. We have to bat with what we've got until January.

"Of course players are going to be disappointed if they are not playing regularly - if they're happy sat on the bench next to me there's something wrong."
