West Ham boss Alan Curbishley is happy to continue signing English players - but insists it's no great show of patriotism.
He said: "The players we brought in could hit the ground running. They'd been in the Premier League for some time, were very experienced, but still young enough to try and get back in their national sides.
"That goes from Julien Faubert, who was in the France team before he was injured, to Scott Parker, who played against Croatia a year ago, to Matthew Upson, Dean Ashton and Robert Green."
