West Ham boss Curbishley hopes for breathing space

After victory over Wigan, West Ham boss Alan Curbishley admitted he hopes the result gives him some breathing space.

He said: "I just get on with it. I've been a manager 20 years and it's the first time I've been favourite. Now I know how it feels."

Curbs tried to make light of the situation by insisting he would be under pressure even if West Ham were top of the League come Christmas.

He said: "Yeah, but that might not be enough for some people."
