West Brom boss Tony Mowbray remains keen on Bolton defender Abdoulaye Meite.
The Birmingham Mail says Mowbray was somewhat annoyed that Bolton recently revealed Albion's interest but it's understood the Baggies remain in the hunt.
They are in the process of making an offer for the 28-year-old.
Meite has no future at the Reebok after falling out with Bolton boss Gary Megson.
