West Brom chairman Jeremy Peace says they're happy to have Dan Ashworth as their director of football.
"Dan (Ashworth) had been here for three or four years, came through the Academy and ran it very well," said Peace.
"We felt that Dan knowing the club very well and the manager being very comfortable with Dan were important.
"Tony was very much involved in that process. When he was first interviewed we told him we wanted to have a sporting and technical director and Tony (Mowbray) was fine with that.
"When it came to Dan's appointment we consulted Tony again, and they work very well together.
"You have to have a very good working relationship between the manager and the technical director.
"Dan has a very good work ethic. He has worked very hard on the player recruitment side and other aspects and we have gone about things very quietly and Dan has got on with it.
"We will see what the benefits are over the next four or five years but the early signs are very encouraging."
