Sheffield Wednesday manager Brian Laws hopes to bring in a forward from the Premier League before the start of the season.

Laws is desperate to bolster his forward line before the Championship begins on Saturday and is cautiously optimistic about his chances.

Laws said: "We are working feverishly behind the scenes to make that happen.

"We are in the process of talking to a player. We have already spoken to a football club and it is now about talking to the player, which I am going to do early part of next week.

"Hopefully, we can secure something which will give everybody a lift."
