Former Coventry City boss Peter Reid has had a good start to his international coaching career. Reid, now manager of Thailand, led his team to win the T&T Cup on the weekend.
The Thais drew with hosts Vietnam 2-2 to clinch the three team round robin tournament that also featured North Korea.
The win was made possible because Thailand had beaten North Korea 1-0 whilst Vietnam could only manage a 0-0 draw.
Worawi Makudi, president of the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) was pleased with Reid's progress as national team manager.
"This is Thailand's first title under Reid. It is a good start," Worawi said.
Reid himself was pleased with the result and the effort from his players.
"They have improved considerably both in training and in competition," Reid said.
"They are willing to train and their fitness has improved.
Worawi added, "Our next mission is to win the AFF Suzuki Cup. It is an Asean level tournament and we have to win it."
