Reggina president Lillo Foti has dismissed calls for foreign refs to be introduced to Serie A.

"They could take the pressure off the Italian referees for a bit and take them out of the spotlight, but that isn't a solution," he told Gr Parlamento's La Politca nel Pallone.

"What is needed - as Cesare Gussoni and Pierluigi Collina have pointed out - is for the referees to come in front of all us professionals to ask for help. Arrogance won't resolve anything.

"The calm atmosphere is lacking. It's a difficult situation, but it always has been. We need the referees to relax, but they have been in the gun-sights for two years."
