Portsmouth fullback Glen Johnson believes he can made the England right-back slot his own.
Johnson was outstanding in Berlin and is now locked in a three-way battle with Manchester United pair Gary Neville and Wes Brown to make the right-back slot his own.
Johnson, 24, said: "Gary nailed that position down for so long. He made it his own. Now I've got to try and do that.
"It won't be easy as the squad is so strong at the moment and there are so many good players competing for places.
"But I'm playing well and feeling confident going into games."
