Port Vale swoop for Aston Villa's Herd

The Australian midfielder is out of contract at Villa Park in the summer and joins the Valiants hoping to gain experience in league football.

The 18-year old is in the third year of his stint at Villa and jumped at the chance to come to Vale Park.

He told the club's official website: "I first heard about Vale's interest on Tuesday and jumped at the chance of coming to Vale Park.

"I feel I can offer something and I am sure I can help the lads climb off the foot of the table. I need to get a few games under my belt.

Sinnott added: "Obviously I am delighted Chris has agreed to come to the club. He can play across the midfield, at right back and I am sure he will be able to do a job for us."
