Port Vale have signed Birmingham City youngster David Howland on loan until the end of the season.

The midfielder told the club's official website: "I got into training and I was informed about the interest from Port Vale and as soon as I heard, I jumped at the opportunity.

"I've been playing in the reserves now for a while, so it's the next step and I hope I can do well in first-team football.

"Hopefully I can get in and make my mark. I played against the reserves last season and I could tell then they are a good club, I'm really looking forward to it."
