Stephen Pearson says Derby's victory over Newcastle is credit to the faith shown in his players by manager Billy Davies.

The winger said: "It was a good team performance and I thought we definitely deserved the victory. We knew it was always going to be difficult but we created chances and, hopefully, we can kick on.

"The gaffer's got faith in the players and he just wants them to go out there and express themselves.

"He likes us to show what we're capable of and I think that's what we've done with that performance.

"We're coming off the back of a great result now."
