Pastorello: Italy risks dropping to fourth rung on Euro table

Pastorello told Radiocalciomercato.com: "I am not optimistic in the sense that Italian football today is in third place in Europe behind the Premier League and the Liga. Unless something is done there is a risk of ending up behind even the Bundesliga after the television contract they signed this year, which will effectively give them the next big push and provide financial assistance to German teams.

"Bayern is strong but there are also other teams that can be very competitive with their improved budget.

"Our limit is because of the stadiums. There are stadiums in Italy that cannot be considered as such. Stadiums in Europe are meeting points, even for families, where they can eat something even three hours before the game.

"Even the training facilities in Spain are working very well, while ours still drag behind. For these reasons I do not see a turnaround, but I see problems, including issues related to security that do not make our league as attractive as the Spanish or English."
