Newcastle's Solano wants England v Peru charity match

Nolberto Solano has proposed a friendly match between Peru and England in aid of the victims of the earthquake in South America.

The earthquake, on Wednesday, devastated the southern cities of Pisco and Ica and has left over 500 dead and more than 1,500 injured.

"We could find a spot in the schedule to play against England," the Newcastle star told the Radioprograma network.

"The people in this country (England) really enjoy football and they could help us to collect a good amount of money and send it to all the people who suffered in the earthquake.

"It's going to be difficult, but they support us which is always a great thing.

"We have to look for a date and I hope that everybody accepts the idea as something positive."
