Michael Owen has leapt to the defence on England goalkeeper Paul Robinson after last night's clanger against Germany.
"But there were plenty of people who made mistakes last night - not least me.
"I missed two good chances and not as much gets said about me."
Owen expects England to perform better in the Euro 2008 qualifiers against Israel and Russia next month after hinting his team-mates struggle to motivate themselves for friendlies.
"History says we've always done better in the meaningful games," he told Sky Sports News.
"The lads aren't machines - they can't play 100% all the time but certainly last night was disappointing."
