Newcastle boss Sam Allardyce is delighted with Nicky Butt's decision to pen a new contract.

Allardyce said: "It's great news for us and for Nicky. We're glad it's now sorted because it's one less thing for the player to think about it. Nicky's been magnificent for us this season and his experience has been invaluable.
