Meredith wants to stay at Telford

Australian defender James Meredith is keen to stay at loan club Telford United. The 20-year old has been on-loan at the club from League Two side Shrewsbury Town and wants to extend his latest loan contract which ended on the weekend.

"I love it," he told the Shropshire Star. "I've played six games in only a month and I'm hoping I'm going to sign on loan for another month.

"I'm keen to stay and I've spoken to the assistant manager (Larry Chambers) and he is keen too. The manager (Rob Smith) wants me to stay as well, so I'm glad.

"I haven't spoken to Shrewsbury about it as of yet, but I'm sure my agent and Telford will and we can get it all sorted out."
