The Westfield Matildas have easily accounted for Singapore on their way to the semi-finals in the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Championships in Vietnam. A 6-0 victory over Singapore ensured the Matildas a berth in the final four of the tournament after previously defeating the Philippines 7-0 and Thailand 2-0. Coach Alistair Edwards was delighted with his team's performance, especially after achieving the first goal they set. "We were able to try different players in different positions, and also to change our system of play as the game progressed to try to counteract Singapore's defensive approach. "Our first target of making it to the semi finals has been achieved - everyone has contributed to us getting this far. "It's pleasing for the future of our game that our two youngest players got on the score sheet today," Edwards said. The AFF Championship Semi-Finals are this Saturday the 18th October at the Than Long Sports Centre in Ho Chi Min City, Vietnam.
