The veteran Dutchman has already quit the international scene.
"I have said December because it is what I have done for the last two years and I feel comfortable with that," said the 37 year old.
"But I don't want to put a time-line on it or talk too much about it.
"As long as I enjoy it and my manager and team-mates are happy you are in the team, that is my main focus point."
It is only when he gets into the real action again that he will really know whether the old hunger is still there.
"Pre-season is over now, which means we start playing the games again," he said.
"I feel good about that. Of course, it is always easier when you win, so we will just see how long I can keep going."
