Leeds appeal points deduction

Leeds will appeal to the Football Association in the latest twist in their fight against their 15 point League One deduction.

Chairman Ken Bates has branded last Thursday's vote by League club chairmen to reject Leeds' appeal against their punishment for an alleged breach of insolvency rules as a "total disgrace".

He also believes the decision was prejudiced and has now turned to The FA as Leeds have regained their 'golden share' and are therefore prevented from taking legal action against the League.

A furious Bates told the Sunday Express: "We will be making an appeal to the FA. Thursday's meeting was a total disgrace.

"In the Premier League any serious disciplinary matters are dealt with by an independent panel, not a group of other clubs. The meeting was prejudiced and we will fight the decision."
