Italy coach Roberto Donadoni must wait until July before discussing a new contract.

A statement from the Italian Football Federation last night read: "The base of the relationship between the Federation and Donadoni is the united aim to honour the prestigious tradition of the national side at Euro 2008.

"President Abete wants to reiterate that there is faith and a relationship of mutual respect on a personal and professional level, which goes beyond contractual issues.

"We will discuss a new deal when the current one expires in July."
