Ipswich boss Jim Magilton has revealed he is set to sign an unnamed Premier League defender on loan after Cesar Navas' move fell through.
Magilton recently pulled out of negotiations to sign Navas from Malaga after the player stalled on personal terms but is now poised to draft in a new recruit.
Magilton told the club's official website: "We kept one or two things up our sleeve in case the Navas thing fell through and we now have the opportunity to maybe bring in a Premier League defender on loan.
"He is a young player we think a lot of and hopefully we are going to get this young man in.
"It would be a loan signing which would give us cover all the way along the back."
