Hibs boss Collins backs O'Brien to come good

Hibs boss John Collins is backing Alan O'Brien to use the international break to discover his best form.

He told the Edinburgh Evening News: "Alan tweaked his ankle and it's been niggling away for the last few weeks. This has given him a chance to lay off kicking the ball.

"He's been doing different things with the physio this week. Hopefully he'll get rid of the pain and we expect him to rejoin the squad on Monday."

Collins believes the ankle injury has resulted in supporters only seeing glimpses of what O'Brien is capable, insisting that once his new-look team fully gels then it will become apparent why he brought him to Easter Road.

He said: "We have to realise that with having someone with his pace we need to get the ball in front of him, in behind the opposition's back four.

"It will take time for the team to settle, not every player fits in straight away, some take a little bit longer than others. But Alan is a good worker, he has a terrific attitude."
