General Charles Krulak has attempted to diffuse tensions with Blues over his "pig in the mud" slur by sending a letter to St Andrew's chairman David Gold.
Krulak has written to explain his choice of phrase, which he stresses he used with regard to the situation of Blues charging £45 for the derby in November. He has now called for calm and an end to the matter.
Krulak has continued his postings on the various supporter message boards, in which he reveals his regret at the story becoming major news.
"The issue with BCFC has reached epic proportions and I am saddened that my analogy has now become 'National' news," he said in one post.
"This has never been about an individual with me - this has always been about fair treatment of fans, Villa or BCFC."
On another site he said: "Obviously, this has far exceeded its newsworthiness. As my analogy said, it does no-one any good to continue to debate this issue.
"At the end of the day, all I wanted was for the fans... the Villa fans and the BCFC fans... to get a fair deal."
