"Berbatov has been like it from day one this season. Before the transfer window closed, he looked like he wanted to be at United," Walsh told the Daily Star. "And once the rumours about the club's meeting with Juande Ramos all came out, the whole thing spiralled downwards.

"In lots of quarters Berbatov has been a bit of a disgrace - with his body language and attitude to situations.

"He's hedging his bets, saying that he's happy just to keep the fans off his back, but deep down, if he wants to be at (Manchester) United, he should tell Spurs."

But Walsh added: "Even if he does want to leave, he's still got to play to his potential and do his best. People will show him a lot more respect if he does that rather than sulk."
