The Iranian star twisted his knee in action for Eintracht Frankfurt against Duisburg last weekend and is expected to be out of action for around a month.

The Bundesliga star had just recovered a back injury three weeks ago.

Mahdavikia expressed his disappointment with the timing of his injury saying, "I'm very saddened by this news."

"I recovered from my old injury just recently and was back to playing full games in Eintracht's recent matches but with this injury blow I will miss Iran's important fixtures in the next month."
