Caley director of football Graeme Bennett said: "We have been talking to Charlie for a while now and have verbally agreed a deal.
"He has not signed it yet as we have both had other things on. We have just never got around to sitting down and completing the paperwork. But that is something we are looking to do in the next day or two.
"We have always been happy with how Charlie has performed. All our previous managers have done a good job for Caley Thistle and he has kept the record going."
