He told the club's official website: "I'm getting used to the physical side of football, but don't forget I've been here for a while now and played against big teams like Bolton in the Premier League.
"I know what that style is all about, and in the next game against Stoke it's important we concentrate on playing the way we do best."
Despite his goalscoring efforts this term, the 26-year-old is more concerned about playing well for the team. He added: "Of course I'm happy to score goals, but it's more important for me to connect the team in midfield.
"To be honest, I don't care too much to be top of the goalscoring charts. I'd rather the strikers do well and the team does well."
