Blackburn's Reid has successful knee surgery

Blackburn's Steven Reid has undergone successful knee surgery confirmed Rovers boss Paul Ince. Reid has been ruled out of the rest of the season after suffering the knee injury last month.

The Republic of Ireland international travelled to America to have the operation at world-renowned surgeon Dr Richard Steadman's clinic.

"Steven Reid had his operation on Wednesday and he's come through that alright so things are looking up," Ince told the club's official website.

"Reidy has gone to one of the best in the business in Dr Steadman so there is no reason why everything shouldn't be okay."
