Birmingham City goalkeeper Richard Kingson is furious with club co-owner David Sullivan over the way he singled him out for criticism earlier this week.

The Ghana international stormed: "I'm sad over the wholly unjustified and unfair comments.

"Even an animal does not deserve to be described as a 'waste of space'. How can he say that when I've not even met him.

"What makes this even more painful is I nearly lost my life in September when I was knocked unconscious against Blackburn - trying to protect the honour of this club.

"To get this insult is a slap in the face."
