Birmingham City boss Steve Bruce wants the bench to be expanded to seven substitutes in the Premiership.

Bruce said: "The time has come for us to do what happens in European games and have seven substitutes to choose from.

"Then we could bring on any three from seven. It would save a lot of heartache for managers but would also allow more flexibility."
