Birmingham City boss Steve Bruce admits having fit-again Mikael Forssell available is like making a big new signing.

"It's like signing a new player. He's been dogged by injuries for two years," said Bruce.

"One of the reasons we got relegated was his knee injury and we've waited all of last season as well. So we hope he stays fit and healthy.

"You can see he's a very, very good player and for a club like Birmingham to have a natural goalscorer like Mikael is going to be invaluable to us."
